Suffolk County's much-criticized sex offender housing plan for the Town of Babylon wassquashed Tuesday, but residents say the alternative plan may create an even bigger problem. The county planned on setting up a shelter for homeless sex offenders in industrial areas in EastFarmingdale and other spots.  Instead, the county will use a voucher system and give homelesssex offenders $90 a day to find housing they will be responsible for keeping their addressescurrent.  Critics of the new plans say it doesn't put enough restrictions on where the sexoffenders live or provide enough supervision.
