Timothy Pruitt, 43, was sentenced to death for the 1992 rape and murder of 10 year old WendyrnVincent from Lumpkin County.  Leeland Mark Braley, 35, was sentenced to death in 1999 for thernkidnapping and stabbing death of Kelli Hammond, an insurance agent from Zebulon.  Georgia'srntop Department of Corrections official has now acknowledged that one of two recent suicides onrnGeorgia's death row may not have been a suicide.  On December 6, condemned killer Pruitt diedrnat Augusta State Medical Prison after sustaining injuries on November 19.  On New Year's Day,rnguards found death-row inmate Braley handing in his cell.  Both were housed on death row atrnthe state Diagnostic and Classification Prison in Jackson.  Corrections officials initiallyrncalled Pruitt's death an alleged suicide.  A number of family members of death-row inmatesrnhave said Pruitt's death was not a suicide and that he was likely killed by another death rowrninmate.rn
