PARENTS BUST SEX OFFENDER ON FACEBOOK WHEN HE REFUSES TO STOP DATING THEIR DAUGHTER

Jesper and Julie Myrfors of Sedro-Wooley, Washington, participated in an elaborate Facebookhoax to keep their 15 year old daughter from dating a registered sex offender.  The teenagerstarted seeing William Liam Elms in April.  A few months later the Myrfors discovered thatElms was a registered level 1 ex offender under state supervision for a third degree childmolestation conviction.  They told their daughter to stop seeing him, but the couple wasunwilling to end their biweekly visits.  The parents decided to friend Elms on Facebook underthe guise of a fictional 15 year old girl named Ashley Lynn Brooks.  With help  fromone of their daughter's friends, the couple started an online back and forth with Elms, whobelieved his new Facebook crush Ashley needed to talk to someone about problems with afriend.  Soon after the online friendship began, Elms tried to convince Ashley to gocamping with him and spoke openly about having sex with her.  As soon as the conversationbecame dirty, violent and nasty, Elms sent Ashley lewd pictures, the parents contactedpolice.  Elms was arrested on August 18.  He is likely to face charges of immoralconduct with a minor and is being held on $25,000 bail.
