PEEKSKILL MAN GETS 20 YEARS FOR LAUNDRY ROOM RAPE

Gregory Hicks, a 52 year old Peekskill man, was convicted on March 27 of first degree rape,second degree assault, and two counts of first degree criminal sexual acts, all felonies.  Hewas sentenced Friday to 20 years in prison for raping a female acquaintance in the laundry room ofthe building where he lived.  Hicks raped the woman in the laundry room on October 22,2010.  The incident began with him forcibly trying to remove her dress after kissingher.  The woman refused when he tried to have sex with and he became enraged.  He punchedher, kicked her and forced her to the ground then forcibly raped her and sodomized her.  WhenHicks is released, he will have to register as a sex offender and will be on probation for 10years.
