PERV COP TO GET 6 MONTHS

Michael Costello, a 39 year old 14 year veteran of the NYPD, pleaded guilty yesterday to trying to solicit sex on the Internet from a detective posing as a teenage boy.  Costello, a youth officer in Queens until he quit the force last week, will serve six months in jail and 10 years' probation as part of a plea deal.  He will also enroll in a sex offender treatment program.  He pleaded guilty to attempted use of a child in a sexual performance.
