Police: Man wanted for robbing, sexually assaulting woman on Saint Marks Avenue

The NYPD is searching for a man who sexually assaulted and robbed a woman after attempting to lure her into his car.

Police say on Friday, the man pulled up to the 54-year-old woman on Saint Marks Avenue asking if she needed a ride.

When she refused, he got out of his SUV, walked up to her and struck her in the stomach before taking off with her purse.

The victim continued walking home but the man returned and met her down the block, sexually assaulted her and then left again.

The woman was treated at an area hospital.

The man is described to be about 5 feet and 8 to 10 inches tall and 185 pounds. He was last seen wearing a black baseball cap, blue jeans and a t-shirt.
