POLICE SAY MAN IS INTERNET SEX PREDATOR

Michael Paul Slattery, 45, has been accused of trying to use the Internet to arrange a sexual encounter with a person he believed to be a 15 year old girl who was actually law enforcement officers.  According to the Associated Press, he was initially arrested by Southaven police officers and the FBI on November 12th and was indicted on the charge Wednesday by a federal grand jury in Oxford and rearrested Thursday.  He is free on $10,000 bond.  The use of the Internet to arrange sexual activity with a minor violates the Sexual Predator Act of 1998.
