PUSH TO PASS SEX OFFENDER BILL (Issue at forefront of special election as Johnson calls on state lawmakers to pass confinement measure)

Nassau County Legis. Craig Johnson on Friday called for state lawmakers to pass a bill cracking down of sex offenders.  Johnson appeared on the steps of the Nassau County Courthouse with the Senate's deputy minority leader and said Assembly and Senate leaders should reconcile competing civil confinement bills that have languished in Albany for several years.  Both bills passed unanimously last month.  The bills differ on how to treat sex offenders after their release from prison.
