ALBANY, NY (WRGB) A registered sex offender in custody is now facing federal charges involving the sexual abuse of minors.
Court documents say Gary Ryan of Clifton Park is expected to be charged after an indictment handed down by a federal grand jury.
Ryan is accused of transporting minors across state lines from Albany County to other places such as Orlando,FL, Boston, Mass, and Las Vegas, NV.
He's facing 9 counts total, three counts of aggravated sexual abuse as well as 6 counts of transportation with intent to engage in criminal sexual activity.
Three unnamed victims are listed, ranging in age of being older than 5 and younger than 16 when the abuse occurred, according to court papers.
Ryan, who is already a registered sex offender was arrested back in January, accused by Colonie Police, of attempting to contact who he thought was 14 year old boy on social media.
Investigators say that Ryan was active in the area of sports memorabilia and may have used that to have illegal contact with underage persons.
He pleaded not guilty to those charges.
Ryan was put on the sex offender registry after a 2008 conviction.
