RESTRICTING LOCALES FOR SEX OFFENDERS’ HOMES
A plan that would make it illegal for registered sex offenders to live within 500 feet of a public park and within 1,000 feet of a school in the Town of Huntington goes before the town board tonight at 7. The proposal, by Republican Councilman Mark Capodanno, is just the natural continuation of Megan's Law, he said. Megan's Law requires convicted sex offenders to register their residence with the state and gives the state permission to make this information public.
