RETIRED NASSAU PROBATION OFFICER SENTENCED TO EIGHT DAYS IN JAIL IN CHILD PORN CASE

Gordon Woolf, a 62 year old veteran retired Nassau County probation officer who faced up to6 1/2 years in prison on a child pornography charge, was sentenced Tuesday to the eight days he hadalready served in jail by a federal judge who cited numerous factors that called for a lessersentence.  Woolf, of Massapequa, who had been a probation officer for 30 years before heretired in 2010, was arrested by federal agents in 2013.  He was accused of downloading childpornography, and pleaded guilty in July to one count of downloading the child pornography.
