SECURITY FOR LITTLE LEAGUES (Sex-offender lists will help screen coaches)
Little League Baseball announced yesterday it will require all local leagues to perform annual checks of their state's list of registered sex offenders for the names of managers, coaches, umpires and other workers who have regular contact with players. The rule goes into effect for the 2003 season next spring and leagues failing to comply with the rule could lose their charter and tournament privileges.
