SEX OFFENDERS RECEIVE NO TREATMENT IN PRISON
Oregon corrections officials say none of the more than 4,000 people housed in state prisons charged with a sex crime is treated during their sentence. ODC spokeswoman Parrin Damon says there is just no state money allocated for prison sex offender treatment. She added that prison sex offender treatment programs just don't work. But 70 percent of those in an Oregon prison on sex crime charges do receive treatment for addictions such as alcohol or drugs.
