SUFFOLK PARENTS CAN GET ‘COMPUTER COP’ FOR FREE

The most common place sexual predators can contact children is through the Internet.  However, with new software, called Computer Cop, parents can better monitor their children's total use of the computer and Internet and protect them from sexual predators and cyber bullies, with or without their children's knowledge.  Computer Cop is now available to the public, free of charge, through the sheriff's office, the headquarters of Suffolk County legislators Wayne Horsley (D-Lindenhurst) and Joseph Caracappa (R-Centereach) and parents for Megan's Law in Stony Brook.  All libraries throughout Suffolk County will soon offer the software for free as well.  For more information on Computer Cop, visit www.computercop.com or call the sheriff's office at 852-2200.
