Suffolk police say they arrested a day care worker for endangering the welfare of three children at an East Patchogue day care center.

Authorities say Roshanne Marks, of Bohemia, was arrested Saturday for an incident on Oct. 17 in which she allegedly grabbed the arms and dragged two 3-year-old children at the child care center on 655 Montauk Highway.

Marks, 33, is also accused of hitting the back of the head of another 3-year-old at the day care.

Marks was charged with three counts of endangering the welfare of a child. She will be arraigned at First District Court in Central Islip on a later date.

On Wednesday, News 12 spoke exclusively to a woman who said her grandson was thrown by a teacher. Debbie Loesh said her grandson was on camera being thrown twice and his ears were flicked. She said the child's mother was notified and went to the school to watch the footage.

A spokesperson for the Way to Grow child Care learning center issued a statement which reads, “management was made aware of an isolated incident involving an employee’s inappropriate physical conduct toward children. Two other staff members, who witnessed this conduct, did not fulfill their legal obligation to report it. All three individuals were immediately terminated.”
