SUSPECT IN CHILD SEX ABUSE CASE FOUND

James Farentino Madden, a 27 year old Florence man in hiding from police for more than a week, was apprehended late Saturday in a motel near Birmingham and was returned to the Shoals to face child sex abuse charges.  Madden faces four counts of sexual abuse and four counts of enticing a child to propose a sexual act.  He was being held without bond Sunday at the Florence-Lauderdale Detention Center.  Each charge is a felony, punishable by up to 10 years in prison.  He is accused of fondling two boys, ages 17 and 15, on several occasions between March 1 and June 1.  The allegations against him involve touching and fondling, but not penetration.  The enticing charge involves trying to lure children to places where they could be abused.  Police are still gathering information and the number of victims could climb as high as 20.
