TEACHER, 25 OTHERS, ARRESTED FOR CHILD PORN

Joshua Ruiz, a New York City teacher, allegedly had photos of child porn on his computer andhad engaged in online chats with others about wanting to have sex with babies.  Prosecutorssaid Ruiz is one of two dozen people including a corporate lawyer and a shoe store clerk thatcaters to children who are charged with having thousands of images of child porn videos and images,including some that were extremely disturbing and violent.  The defendants stockpiled imagesof the brutal rapes and sexual assaults of tens of thousands of real children.  Ruiz worked asa substitute teacher at PS 199, PS 166, PS 111 and PS 333 in Manhattan since 2008.  He pleadednot guilty during his arraignment.  Others arrested included:
-- Moshe Gerstein, 35, who works as a corporate attorney at Gibson Dunn who allegedly had5,000 images on his home computers.
-- Miguel Caraballo, 29, who worked as a dishwasher at Alice's Tea Cup that caters tochildren.
-- Steven Roman, 30, an employee of a children's shoe store in lower Manhattan.
-- Sefket Jadadic, 47, a building superintendent on the Upper East Side.
These cases in New York come one day after US Marshals and prosecutors in upstate SullivanCounty announced more than a dozen charges against convicted sex offenders who had violated theterms of their release.  Some were charged with possessing child porn while others had failedto register as sex offenders.
