TEACHER ACQUITTED OF ABUSE

Thomas Baudier, a 22 year old substitute teacher at Northport High School, is under investigation for allegedly engaging in sexual contact with a 16 year old female student.  Baudier, of Northport, met the student in a class when he became a permanent substitute in January.  He was charged with sexual abuse in the third degree and endangering the welfare of a child.  Bail was set at $5,000 cash or $25,000 bond.

Baudier was arrested again in May after new allegations.  He was charged with attempted sexual abuse, a violation, and one count of endangering the welfare of a child, a misdemeanor, for a case involving a 14 year old girl.

Baudier was acquitted on October 2.  He was found not guilty of sexual abuse, attempted sexual abuse and endangering the welfare of a child after a 10 day trial.  The girls, their friends, a school social worker and police detective testified at the trial.
