TEACHER GETS 7 YEARS FOR TEEN MOLEST

Thomas Higgins, a 52 year old Morningside Heights teacher, has been charged with sodomizing a 15 year old student and posting sexually explicit material on the Internet.  Higgins, who teaches at Rice High School of West 124th Street, was also charged with endangering the welfare of a child and disseminating indecent material to a minor.

Higgins pleaded guilty to sodomy and disseminating indecent material to a minor and was sent to prison for up to seven years yesterday for sodomizing the 15 year old boy.  He could get out in two years with good behavior.
