TEACHER’S LAWYER FIGHTS CHARGES

Michael S. Dorrington, a 26 year old teacher accused of videotaping his kindergarten students as they undressed, was charged with five counts of endangering the welfare of a child last month.  His lawyer wants the charges dropped because the state's voyeur laws do not cover such an act.  Five girls were told by Dorrington to go inside a closet and change into bathing suits on Water Fun Day at Lincoln Elementary School.  He had a hidden camera in the closet which was in the classroom.  He later dropped the camera and took it to be repaired.  When the repairman fixed the camera, he viewed the tape and then called police.
