TENNESSEE MAN PLEADS GUILTY TO TRAVELING WITH INTENT TO HAVE SEX WITH 10 YEAR OLD

Roy Logston, a 68 year old man from Chattanooga, Tennessee, pleaded guilty today in federal district court to traveling across state lines with intent to have sex with a 10 year old child.  He was arrested when he traveled from Tennessee to Georgia with the intention of having illegal sexual contact with the girl, who was really an undercover agent of the FBI.  Logston was indicted in March 2006 on one count of using a computer connected to the internet to persuade, induce and entice a child to engage in sexual activity and one count of crossing a state line with the intent to engage in a sexual act with a child under the age of 12.  He pleaded guilty today to the second charge.  Under the terms of the binding plea agreement accepted by the Court, Logston should receive a sentence of 11 years, 3 months imprisonment to be followed by 10 years of supervised release.  Sentencing is set for September 28, 2006.
