THREE LOCAL MEN CHARGED WITH CHILD SEX CRIMES, AUTHORITIES SAY
July 8, 2020
Three local men were arrested Tuesday in separate child sex crime investigations, authorities said.
Gram Davis Armstrong, 41, 425 Belmere Luxury Court, Houma, is charged with distribution of pornography involving children under 13, police said.
Henry Abraham Ruiz, 32, 605 Pendleton Drive, Houma, is facing eight counts of distribution of child pornography, authorities said.
Also charged Tuesday was Nelson Naquin, 58, of Raceland, with 22 counts of distribution of child pornography, the Lafourche Parish Sheriff’s Office said.
Naquin, who is a convicted sex offender, is also charged with indecent behavior with a juvenile and failure to register as a sex offender, authorities said.
Naquin was originally taken into custody on June 23 after being charged for inappropriately touching a teenage boy, the Sheriff’s Office said. The suspect was taken into custody at his home and was booked into the Lafourche Parish jail.
As detectives continued investigating Naquin, they learned he had sexually assaulted another teenage boy, authorities said. Investigators also found child pornography in Naquin’s possession and learned he failed to comply with sex-offender laws. He was convicted of molestation in 2004 and is a registered sex offender.
Warrants were obtained for the additional charges and Naquin’s bond was increased to $600,000.
Armstrong and Ruiz were arrested in Houma following separate investigations, authorities said.
Their arrests resulted from a joint investigation between the Attorney General’s Office and Terrebonne Sheriff’s Office.
Both suspects were booked into the Terrebonne Parish jail, where they are being held on $25,000 bonds.
