WEB LIAISON WITH TEEN LEADS TO SEX CHARGE

Paul Keith Perry, a 25-year-old auto parts store clerk, was arrested Thursday on four felony charges: solicitation of a child by computer, second-degree kidnapping, statutory sex offenses and taking indecent liberties with a child.  Through online conversations, the law was broken by Perry.  He enticed a 14-year-old girl to submit to secret sexual encounters with him.  A confidential informant tipped police to the illicit relationship.  Investigators met with the girl and her parents, who were shocked to learn of their daughter's computer-arranged liaisons with the Hertford County man.  Her parents ended the relationship and have stopped further contact between their daughter and the man.  Investigators obtained warrants and traveled to Ahoskie to arrest Perry.  He was being held at the Wake County jail in lieu of $100,000 bail.
