WRESTLING COACH AT CENTRAL VALLEY HIGH ARRESTED FOR MULTIPLE SEX CRIMES AGAINST STUDENTS

SHASTA LAKE, Calif. — The head wrestling coach at Central Valley High School has been arrested after confessing to multiple felony sex crimes against student(s).
On Monday, February 24, the Shasta County Sheriff's Office (SCSO) Major Crimes Unit (MCU) was advised of possible sexual assaults on female students occurring over the last two years at Central Valley High School.
The head wrestling coach Stephen Reed, 27, was named as the suspect.
SCSO MCU officials say the staff at the school has been very cooperative with the investigation and Reed was immediately suspended at the onset of the investigation.
On February 27, detectives contacted and interviewed Reed where he confessed to all the known allegations.
SCSO says Reed was placed under arrest and transported to the Shasta County Jail where he was booked for eight counts of statutory rape, four counts of annoying or molesting a child, six counts of sexual assault with a foreign object on a minor, six counts of oral copulation with a minor, one count of sending lewd material to a minor, one count of possession of child porn, and two counts of contributing to the delinquency of a minor.
Reed is currently being held in jail with a bail set at $1,027,000.
