A star on the former MTV show “Making the Band” has been booked into jail in Las Vegas on a sex trafficking charge, according to Metro Police.

Kevin Barnes, 27, and known by the moniker “Chopper,” was booked Monday in the Clark County Detention Center on one count of sex trafficking of an adult, police said in a release. Barnes had a large social media following that he used to recruit women to be sex workers, police said.

Barnes was arrested earlier this month and was being extradited to Las Vegas, TMZ reported Monday.

Citing legal documents, TMZ reported Barnes sent a private message via social media to an undercover detective in Nevada posing as a sex worker with an apparent offer to make money via prostitution.

Anyone contacted by Barnes to become a sex worker or anyone who is a victim of sex trafficking is urged to contact Metro's vice section at 702-828-3455. To remain anonymous, contact Crime Stoppers at 702-385-5555, or go online at www.crimestoppersofnv.com.
