I WAS ONLY 16, CLAIMS PRIEST-SEX WOMAN

The woman whose letter about her affair with Bishop James McCarthy led to his resignation has said she was 16 years old when the liaison began, contradicting McCarthy.  The woman, who is now in her 40s, has said she started her affair with McCarthy when he was a priest in the New York Archdiocese and that it continued over 20 years.  McCarthy, 59, resigned this week as a bishop and pastor of a Westchester parish after archdiocese officials confronted him about the lette the woman sent to Edward Cardinal Egan detailing the affair.
