JUDGE DEFENDS HOUSE ARREST SENTENCE
Charles Horton, 32, was sentenced to one year of home detention and has to wear an electronic ankle bracelet, after he pleaded guilty to kidnapping and trying to rape a 12 year old boy. He has permission to attend school and counseling. According to the Associated Press, the decision stirred the ire of Governor Paul Cellucci, who will examine Superior Court Judge Maria Lopez's record for a pattern of leniency. Meanwhile, other community leaders demand a hearing which could force her to step down from the bench.
