Katherine Tew, a 31 year old former North Carolina High School English teacher, was foundguilty of taking indecent liberties with a child.  In February 2005, she was arrested after a17 year old former student told the school principal that he and Tew had a sexual encounter. Tew was found guilty of taking indecent liberties with a student and is required to undergo apsychological evaluation, relinquish her teaching license for at least two years, perform 36 hoursof community service and register as a sex offender.
