KIDDIE-PORN PEDIATRICIAN GUILTY

Dr. Julius Goepp, a 46 year old former chief of pediatric emergency medicine at Strong Memorial Hospital in Rochester, pleaded guilty yesterday to possessing dozens of pornographic images of children on his home computer.  Goepp, who no longer works in the hospital, will be sentenced to 27 to 33 months in prison under the plea deal.  If convicted at trial, he could have been sentenced to up to 10 years in prison.  A more serious charges of receiving child pornography would have carried a maximum 20-year sentence.  The charges appeared to involve only his personal conduct and were not related to his practice of medicine.  Sentencing is set for November 3.
