MAN CHARGED IN ONLINE PORN CASE

Gary A. Farlow, a 61 year old Maine man, chatted online about sex with someone he thought was a 14 year old boy.  On his computer was an active online conversation with the boy - actually a Nassau police detective more than 360 miles away on Long Island.  Farlow was arrested and charged with two counts of attempting to disseminate indecent material to a minor.  The investigation had led to Farlow's arrest on April 30 on a charge of possession of photographic material depicting sexual acts by a minor.  He pleaded not guilty on May 2.  Minutes later, in a hearing on the out-of-state charges, he was ordered held without bail.  He also waived extradition, which will allow him to face the charges on Long Island.

Farlow is scheduled to arrive on Long Island today to answer charges he tried sharing indecent material with the boy.
