Austin Clem, a 25 year old married Alabama father, will not go to prison despite beingconvicted of three counts of rape dating back to when his victim was only 14 years old. Clemraped the girl three times between the ages of 14 and 18 years old and spend two years in a reformprogram and three years on probation instead of being locked up. The program, administered bythe county jail, is intended to keep non-violent offenders out of prison. He will also haveto register as a sex offender. Sentencing guidelines provide for sentences anywhere from 10 to 99years in prison but he will never see the inside of a cell.
