RAPE VICTIM PLEADS FOR DNA DATABASE

A Queens woman who was the victim of a still unsolved 12

year old rape met with Assembly Speaker Sheldon Silver yesterday in an 11th-hour plea for passage of legislation requiring all convicted criminals to give DNA samples.  The 41 year old woman told Silver of her ordeal when an armed man pulled her husband from their car, robbed him and forced him into the trunk before raping her in a field and then putting her, too, in the trunk.  The attacker has never been caught but DNA evidence has since linked him to the rape of a young girl several years later and most recently, a robbery on Long Island.
