SENATE BANS COMPUTER CHILD PORN

A bill calling for a prison term of up to 12 years and a fine of up to $10,000 for inducing or permitting a child to be engaged in pornography was voted on by Senators 26-4.  The bill toughens the state's anti-child porn law, cracking down on computer-generated child pornography.  According to the Associated Press, it also makes it illegal to manufacture, receive, reproduce or possess child pornography.  Language that outlaws creating images of children that appear to be engaging in sexual conduct has also been reinserted by Senators.
