After receiving tips about a man possibly distributing child pornography in Alaska, Anchorage police this week arrested two men in connection to the reports, according to a police statement.

On Tuesday, police arrested Larry S. Oscar, 26, on two charges of sexual abuse of a minor, child exploitation, distribution of child pornography and possession of child pornography. Two days later, they also arrested 61-year-old William O. Jones Jr. on three charges of sexual abuse of a minor.

Oscar now faces in state court a total of 28 counts of various charges, including sexual exploitation of a minor, sexual abuse of a minor and child pornography charges, according to a charging document filed by the state.

The crimes were committed against young children, according to the document.

Police said that the investigation began after they received “multiple tips” between February and March about a man in Alaska distributing child pornography. The tips were submitted to a cyber tip line on The National Center for Missing and Exploited Children’s website, according to police.

According to the state’s charging document, the center alerted police to about eleven cyber tips related to one online user, “ninjaboylarry,” in the Anchorage police jurisdiction. Police then tracked the username to a Snapchat account with the name Larry as the display name.

Police then reviewed multiple videos and photos that were saved to the Oscar’s Snapchat account. These depicted Oscar engaging in sexual acts with young children, and one or more unidentified men engaging in sexual acts with young children, according to the charging document.

During their investigation, Anchorage police found that the suspect, whom they identified last week as Oscar, “both participated in and produced child pornography," police said. Those images were spread on multiple social media platforms, including Snapchat, according to police.

After arresting Oscar, questioning him and remanding him to the Anchorage Jail on Tuesday, police also identified Jones as a suspect, police said. Jones was remanded to the Anchorage Jail on Thursday, police said.

Police said that at this time, investigators do not believe there are any more victims other than those who have already been contacted by authorities.
