ABILENE GRANDFATHER ARRESTED FOR CHILD SEX CRIME

ABILENE, Texas — An Abilene grandfather was arrested for a child sex crime.
Richard Esquivel, 66, is charged with indecency with a child.
According to the pre-indictment warrant, a 9-year-old boy accused Esquivel of sticking his hand down the boy's basketball shorts.
Esquivel told police he reached over the boy to grab the TV remote. He thinks the boy thought he was trying to something inappropriate.
He denied touching the victim.
According to the warrant, Esquivel also told police that he wrestles with the boy and then they do so, "they touch and play around."
Esquivel said he also playfully grabs the victims shorts and pulls them off, exposing his genitals.
The alleged incident happened in July 2018.
The warrant was issued last week.
