ADDICT GETS 25 YEARS IN TODDLER’S TORTURE-SLAYING
Trent Fouts, 35, was sentenced to 25 years to life in prison for the torture killing of a toddler left in his care. He was convicted of murder in March for the 1997 murder of 1 1/2 year old Joshua Massengill. According to the Associated Press, the boy was found propped up against a wall at a convalescent hospital. His body was scalded and bruised and the skin on his genitals was nearly rubbed off. He had been struck with a narrow rod nearly two dozen times. Fouts said he had gotten high just before the boys mother left. He was acquitted of a molestation charge.
