BROTHERS SOLD ‘DATE-RAPE’ KITS ONLINE, COPS SAY
Police from Michigan, New Jersey, and South Carolina along with agents from the FDA raided the home of and arrested Jeffrey Suggs, 33 and Kenneth Suggs, 29 for allegedly peddling date-rape drug kits on their web site. The kits were disguised as computer-cleaning solvents. More than 100 pounds of drugs used to make gamma hydroxybutyrate (GHB), a notorious date-rape drug were seized. Also seized by police were a .45-caliber semiautomatic pistol and a pair of shotguns. The Suggs are awaiting extradition to New Jersey where they face charges of conspiring to possess and manufacture GHB. If they are convicted, they each face 5 to 10 years in prison and a $150,000 fine.
