CHILDREN FREQUENTLY EXPOSED TO ONLINE SOLICITATIONS, STUDY FINDS
According to CNET News.com, a study conducted by the Crimes against Children Research Center at the University of New Hampshire said that one out of five youths between the ages of 10 and 17 who use the Internet is regularly exposed to unwanted sexual solicitations. Online sexual solicitations are as likely to come from other youths than from the stereotypical Internet pedophile. The study says, 48% of youths under the age of 18 were the perpetrators of the sexual solicitations and 19% of sexual requests came from females.
