EGAN IS CLEARED IN SEX PROBE
Edward Cardinal Egan has been cleared of a charge of sexually abusing a child while a priest in Chicago more than 30 years ago. The accusation was made against the cardinal earlier this year by an unnamed man who claimed Egan molested him in 1969, but an investigation by Illionois prosecutors and Chicago's Catholic archdiocese found the charge without substance.
