After taking the surgery into consideration, a judge sentenced, Carl Roberts Jr., a childmolester who was voluntarily castrated to make sure he never again would commit a sex offense, tonearly 13 years in prison. Roberts could have received up to 21 years in prison but Circuit JudgeG. Robert Barron told him he was glad that you took that step but said castration wasn't theanswer to all of his problems. Sometimes it works; sometimes it doesn't, the judge said.
