LAHORE, Pakistan, Dec 15 (Thomson Reuters Foundation) – Pakistan introduced a rape law on Tuesday that will create special courts to try cases within four months, after protests over the gang rape of a woman whose car ran out of fuel.

PENSACOLA, Fla. (AP) — A former Florida high school teacher was sentenced to 12 years in prison for sexually abusing students after the judge ignored his request to be castrated instead.
Mark Lua, 32, told Circuit Judge Thomas Dannheisser on Wednesday that he wanted to raise his daughter and would volunteer for castration if that would spare him a prison sentence, the Pensacola News Journal reported.

A deputy in the Guerrero state Congress has proposed an initiative that would punish repeat rapists and pedophiles with chemical castration.
Morena party Deputy Marco Antonio Cabada Arias directed the initiative to the federal Congress in order for a change to be made to the constitution.
“The goal of the current initiative is to impose a maximum penalty of chemical castration on repeat rapists and pedophiles, which consists of the provision of medicine that reduces the libido,” he said.

According to new legislation introduced Tuesday, foreigners convicted of sexually abusingchildren in Moldova will be mandatorily castrated.  The new law states foreign and Moldovannationals found guilty of pedophilia will be chemically castrated, while courts will ruleseparately on those found guilty of rape.  The law was approved by parliament after lawmakerssaid the impoverished nation was attracting pedophiles from the West.  It will becomeeffective July 1.  Chemical castration involves the administration of testosterone-suppressinghormones every three months, which are intended to curb sexual drive and male fertility.  Thenew legislation follows similar

Larry McQuay, a convicted sex offender who once asked to be castrated, is due for mandatoryrelease in May. He is currently serving a 20 year sentence but with good behavior and time served,he is scheduled to be released May 3, only eight years into his sentence. After McQuay was releasedin 1996 for molesting a 7 year old boy, he admitted to another sex crime involving a child, and itwas then when he was returned to prison that he asked to be castrated. It is not known if he everwas castrated.
