Gov. Hochul signs Adult Survivors Act into law

Gov. Kathy Hochul signed the Adult Survivors Act into law Tuesday.

The law opens a one-year look back window, suspending the statute of limitations for survivors who were sexually abused as an adult.

The state Assembly passed the ASA Monday, following a unanimous vote in the Senate last month.

Another law, the Child's Victim Act, opened a look back window from 2019 to 2021 for people who were sexually abused as children
