MOTHER PLEADS NOT GUILTY IN CHILD PORN CASE
A West Hempstead woman pleaded not guilty in Central Islip yesterday to charges that she and her husband videotaped themselves taking part in sexual activities with their 7 year old daughter. Both of their names are not being printed to avoid revealing the identity of the victim. John Jacobs, the court appointed attorney for the woman asked federal District court Judge Leonard Wexler to order a psychiatric examination of her and to appoint a private investigator to look into her background. He believed the woman had been a victim of spousal and sexual abuse herself. The husband has not yet pleaded to the charges. The couple have been held in preventive detention since their arrest and their two children have been placed in foster care. If convicted of the charges of sexual exploitation of a child, they would each face a minimum mandatory sentence of 10 years in prison.
