NEW JERSEY EX-TEACH NABBED IN ‘HALLOWEEN’ HORROR LURE

Bruce Engelke, a 60 year old former music teacher, was arrested on charges he tried to lure a child into his car and trespassed at a seventh-grade Halloween dance wearing a costume and mask from the horror movie Scream.  He was also charged with two weapons charges and assault, accused of touching children with a mallet at a dance at the Cavallini Middle School in Upper Saddle River.  The luring charge stems from an incident an hour earlier, when police got a 911 call reporting that a man in a Buick with New York license plates asked a child to get in his car.  Engelke is being held in the Bergen County Jail on $12,500 bail.
