NEW YORK:  PARENTS FOR MEGAN’S LAW

Laura Ahearn, executive director of Parents for Megan's Law, accepts a check for $23,000 from New York State Assemblyman Steven Englebright and New York State Senator James Lack.  The funding was secured by Engelbright and Lack through the Division of Criminal Justice Services, the state agency responsible for administering Megan's Law in New York.  Parents For Megan's Law will use this funding for the expansion of their Resource and Support Center, which is headquartered in Stony Brook.  Parents For Megan's Law is a not for profit organization dedicated to the prevention of childhood sexual abuse through the provision of advocacy, education, policy and legislative support services.  For questions or assistance please call their Hotline at (631) 689-2672.
