Prosecutor: Man sentenced to 20 years in prison in ‘horrific’ child porn case

A judge sentenced a Kenton County man to 20 years in prison in what the lead prosecutor described as a "horrific" case of child pornography.

Kenton Circuit Judge Kate Molloy sentenced Emmanuel Curry, 21, to 20 years in prison for possessing child pornography.

Assistant Commonwealth's Attorney Emily Arnzen said the details of the case are horrific and involved children between 2 and 4 years old.

Curry pleaded guilty in April to 69 counts of possession of child pornography and 1 count of tampering with physical evidence without the benefit of a plea agreement.

Curry was arrested on Feb. 17, 2021, after Kenton County Police executed a search warrant at his home on McCullum Pike.

Kenton County Prosecutor Rob Sanders stated in a release that when police got to his house, Curry threw his cell phone out the window of the home. After searching the phone, they found 69 files containing the illicit images.

The investigation began after Detective Brian Jones got a tip from the National Center for Missing and Exploited Children that led him to someone at an IP address in Kenton County.

Sanders said in the release that the person was using a reverse image search to find pictures of child pornography.

Detectives seized all devices from the house and later arrested Curry after his father admitted his son confessed to downloading the images.
