SHOT PERFUME EXEC KNEW KID-PORN FIEND WAS THREAT

Victor M. Piazza, a registered sex offender who was arrested in 2004 on charges of having child pornography on his company computer after the company complained to police and was later fired, walked through the front door of Verla International at about noon and fired a .38 revolver at co-owners of the Hudson Valley factory and an office manager.  The three managers of the factory were shot in the head by Piazza, who then killed himself.  Perfume company executive JoAnne O'Brien knew Piazza, whom she helped get fired last year, was just itching for revenge, but she refused to be intimidated.  He made good on his threats on September 26 storming into the factory in upstate Orange County, shooting O'Brien and the company's co-owners.
