TEACHER CLEARED OF SEX ABUSE CHARGES

Anthony Marshall, a 33 year old Baldwin Senior High School music and choir teacher, pleaded not guilty on October 22, 2004, to forcibly touching and sexually abusing three male students during private choir lessons.  He taught at the high school for at least eight years and used one-on-one after school music lessons to touch students, first on their abdomens, then sexually.  The alleged victims' ages ranged from 14 to 17 during the abuse.  Marshall had been charged with three counts of forcible touching and sexual abuse in the third degree, both misdemeanors.  He was arraigned and later released on either $75,000 bond or $15,000 cash.

On January 18, Marshall was found not guilty of all charges.
