TOKYO: US MARINE JAILED FOR MOLESTING OKINAWA GIRL

Marine Lance Corporal Kenny K. Titcomb, a 19-year-old US marine, was sentenced to a two-yearjail term for molesting a Japanese schoolgirl in a crime, which fueled protests against the USmilitary and cast a cloud over a leaders' summit. He was found guilty of molesting the 14-year-oldgirl on July 3rd after entering her home as she slept. Because he is under 20, he could only betried as a juvenile by a Japanese court, instead he was tried in a US military court to help bringa tougher sentence. He was sentenced to two year in confinement and would be discharged afterserving the sentence.
