OFFICER CHARGED WITH ON-DUTY LEWD ACTS

Officer Darrell Walker, 37, a three-year Lauderhill officer has been charged with molesting four people, authorities said today.  The first incident occurred in December when Walker responded to a police call at a home where he met with two girls, ages 11 and 16, and an adult.  He allegedly fondled all of them, police said.  A complaint was not filed right away but once they filed one, an investigation began immediately.  In early March there was a second incident when Walker touched a female victim sexually while she was being detained on a traffic stop.  He was charged with two counts of simple battery and three counts of lewd and lascivious act/molestation.  He was released from the Broward County Jail on $8,500 bond and has been suspended without pay pending the outcome of the investigation.  If he is convicted, he could face up to 15 years in state prison, according to Florida law.  Walker was fired from a neighboring police department for making inappropriate sexual comments to a group of female recruits in the nearby Hollywood Police Department.
